Romania's most reputed international music festival, the Golden Stag fest in the city of Brasov, will not be organized in 2007 either since the organizers did not manage to get enough funding, the interim chief of the public television Alexandru Sassu said on Monday. The deadline for financing sources was set for July 31 but the local authorities in Brasov did not announce anything.
The Golden Stag was not organized in 2006 either for the same reasons. The funding is supposed to be supported both by local authorities and the public television. The total amount for the festival amounts to 1.5 million euro.
The first Golden Stag festival was organized in 1968 and in 39 years the festival was up in only 15 editions. A jubilee edition is expected to take place in 2008, according to Sassu.
