Another timber transporting ship in trouble in the Black Sea


The National Naval Authority in Romania intercepted an SOS signal from a ship pertaining to Antigua with Ukrainian crew according to Realitatea TV on Saturday.

The ship left Constanta’s port carrying timber and soon after sent an SOS signal accusing problems with the load. Romanian authorities sent a ship to help the crew.

On Thursday night, a Cambodian ship carrying timber had problems just a few miles before reaching the Romanian port.

The seven crew members were saved but the ship sank, leaving an oil spill on the surface. The ship carried 10 tons of gasoline when it sank.
