The European Commission formulated its official position on the car first registration tax imposed in Romania. The Finance Ministry was informed on the EC position and is expected to make official statements soon.
Contacted by HotNews.ro, the Taxes and Duties Commissioner's spokesman, Laszlo Kovacs, refused to confirms the information released by Romanian officials.
"Authorities in Bucharest will shortly come into possession of the EC response, which includes supplementary notes for the calculus formula. The negotiations between Romania and the European Commission will continue", said sources quoted by NewsIn.
The new calculus formula should come into force on January 1, 2008, or in six months after publishing, said the Economy Minister, Varujan Vosganian.
