Romanian officials and European Commission representatives have convened on a number of points on which an accord was needed to push forward the Regional Operational Program.
The program is used by Romania to implement a series of EU-funded measures to decrease economic and social differences between the country’s various regions, Romanian Integration minister Anca Boagiu said on Thursday.
She said that talks with the EC were stopped today and will be renewed on Monday, when her ministry will have finalized the necessary documentation in this regard.
An EC regional affairs official said on Wednesday that two regional development programs needed an accord between Romania and Brussels, but he would not nominate them.
And Giorgio Ficcarelli of the EC Office in Bucharest had said on Tuesday that three programs would be suspended by the European Commission - the ones dealing with Competitiveness, Transports, and Regional Development.
