EP votes for Moscovici report

The European Parliament voted on Thursday for the final Pierre Moscovici report on Romania’s accession to the European Union. The document was approved with 542 votes for, 41 against and 27 abstentions.

The amendment on reopening international adoptions was rejected by most European parliamentarians, who took the opportunity to signal the fact that areas such as justice, security, food quality and minorities still need improvement in Romania.
Instead, EP’s voted for another amendment, demanding the member states to open their labor market for Romanians, “in the spirit of free circulation of the labor force, guaranteed by the community regulations”.
