All About Golf Game

The game of golf is no ordinary game. It is the only sport that has special attire that involves so many different clubs and the game that comes with accessories that outrun any other sport accessories. Golf asks for elegance and dignity. It makes you want to have a solid and bold character and personality that makes you stand out in the sports world. All sports have rules and these rules are necessary. But not all games have etiquettes but golf does. Golf etiquettes are no rules, they are mere manners or behavior of golfers that they need to be careful about when they enter the golf course, make their way through the game and finally step out of the golf course. These etiquettes, if followed can help a golfer play a perfect game.

The player should always try to arrive as early as possible on the course to have enough time to find out a few things. Not everyone can do that but it is very convenient if you can grab hold of a caddie. These caddies can be of great support and help to you. They not carry your clubs they can provide you with guidelines, they can give you pointers. They can give you tips that you may be ignoring while you play. They can do readings for you and so on. It’s always good to have someone by your side to support your game.

Why you need to arrive early is because it can give you time to check the score boards, because courses may have different rules of scoring and if you don’t already know that it can have a bad affect on your game. You can simply roam about and mingle up with the other players, have small talk so that you feel comfortable with the opponents.

Something very important before you start your game is that you get a proper warm up. You should at least give half an hour to 15 minutes to warming up. This little exercise before golf or any other games is very important. It gives you confidence and makes you feel at ease. You get to feel that you are ready to play otherwise you will probably feel stiff and uncomfortable and your swings will definitely disappoint you.

You should always play heartily, never be rigid. Never offend your opponent. Stay calm and never leave a bad impression on the other players. Take care of the tee and never leave prints and even if you do make a mark; remove it before leaving. Encourage others, watch your steps, plan ahead and play for fun and enjoy!

A Pro Golf Career Takes Much More than Just Skill

Golf may not be as bone crushing as football or as fast-paced as basketball, but it is a sport that requires skill and practice to master. Only the patient and gifted can play at an advanced level. If you feel you are part of this elite group of aficionados, perhaps it is time to consider a pro golf career.

Making it in this industry may not be as easy as one would expect. Sure, you should be knowledgeable about the game itself; however, it takes much more than golfing skills to excel in the industry. Here are some things you must have in order to become successful in the business and advance your career.

A Passion for the game: You may find yourself at work or in class continuously daydreaming about golf. Or, you may feel the need to read and absorb every single article you come across. You might even find yourself watching the Golf Channel into the wee hours of the night, viewing same episodes of shows you have already seen time and time again. If you have found yourself in most of these situations or thoughts, you are officially a golf fanatic, and may just have the passion and aspiration for a professional career.

Ambition: In order to become successful, you must have a driving sense of ambition. There are thousands, perhaps millions, of people who want to work in the business, just like you. So, you need to not only spend time working on your craft, you also have to work hard at landing that employment opportunity of your choice. Make connections on the course, send out those resumes, and think positively. Ambition will help you find the necessary ideas and experiences that will place you above your competition.

Golf school: The first physical step to the sport career of your dreams is to attend an accredited golf academy that offers a certified associates degree. A good school will teach its students not only the fundamentals of golf, but also the various components of the business itself, such as management, operations, marketing, profitability, etc. The curriculum of a high-quality school will be up to date and the education will be top notch. And, after you graduate, an accredited golf school will not forget about you. Many schools offer their alumni exclusive employment opportunities on an ongoing basis.

To become a success in this business takes more than great swings and a good eye. It takes patience, time and persistence. In other words, you may have to eat, sleep and breathe golf, which is most likely not a problem for all of you enthusiasts out there.

What I Know and Remember About Baseball - Granparents

Back to 1974, East Tacoma Washington, it is game day, almost 10am. As Players and Parents cross the parking lot, silver haired seniors begin to gather at the fringe of the field. For them between the talking and their pace, it will still be 10 more minutes or so before they reach the bleachers.

For the seniors there are no pressures to finish a blog on Myspace. No handheld HD camcorders to capture those perfect moments to upload onto Youtube. Any talk about stocks is what Grandmother is brewing on the stove from last nights left dinner.

Loud speech and jibes about how deaf each other has become is usually followed by the pleasantries of passing around the swisher sweets with the solemn oath that Grandma will not find out.

All in all, it is just like watching little boys as they gather at the base of their favorite tree to swap candies before dinner outside of Moms watchful eye.

What ever conversation is being discussed is promptly dropped when the umpire makes his presence known. That is the moment all glasses focus on him with a unified effort to remind the umpire of what a strike zone is. Foul verses fair ball. And what ever bleacher umpire coaching they can assist with or invent.

For Grandparents, their heroes are warming up. Under five feet tall and awkward, these are seasoned players ready for action. With chewing gum being formed into bubbles, they eye the opponents for weakness. These Players rarely make the papers and are prone to tummy aches after the consolation ice cream Sunday following a tough loss or energetic win.

So what has really changed in the last 32 years? Have Grandparents lost the luster for their favorite players? Is their interest in baseball so far from their busy lives managing their portfolios on E*TRADE or keeping up with their posts on Myspace or Youtube?

Communication breakdown between distanced Grandparents and Grandchildren is the likely culprit. In 1974, most kids could take a modest bicycle ride to visit with their Grandparents. Weekly dinners or stops on the to or from shopping kept Grandparents aware of what was happening.

To days Grandparents are separated from their Grand Children by distance, difficulty in traversing any safe route and the demands of the Parents by their jobs, schools and activities. Not wanting to interfere or become a burden on the challenges their own children face in this modern world, Grandparents site peacefully by keeping themselves occupied as best they can.

Many leagues expect Parent participation in the preparation of fields, helping hands at the fundraisers and financial support of the year end finale. Some leagues go as far as to mandate how much time Parents must volunteer in order for their children to participate.

How much nicer would the fields be if there were a team dedicated to their preservation. This same team could have the donation table in front of the local grocery store manned for days on end without missing a beat. Accountants, Lawyers, Engineers, Master Carpenters, Master Electricians and Salesmen; this team is highly skilled and backed by years of solid experience.

Grandparents quietly sitting and tending to their own affairs are the most under utilized resource available to any league. In years past, bake sales were the sole territory of the blue hair brigade. Slow, methodical women that make cookies and cakes to die for.

Let us take a look at the numbers. Say your league has 10 teams, each team has 12 players; the most Grandparents available is 480. Putting it into reality, there are probably only 30% of those in the area and lets say only 50% have the ability to physically participate. Now you only have 72 people to work out the details of field maintenance, help with fundraising, figure out the IRS forms and manage the league checkbook. When if even can you find 72 people just waiting to be asked to come out and play.

How wonderful would it be to be able to organize 72 willing, motivated, trained and experienced people for your volunteer efforts? With that many people the entire facility could get a once over every week. Needed repairs assigned to the proper folks. Compensation for these folks lies in the participation of something meaningful and the love they have for their heroes.

The process of developing your own blue hair brigade is quite easy. At the beginning of the season have a meeting with all the Grandparents and see what commitments you get. Should you find the numbers lacking, visit the local senior center. An offer of something as meaningful to do will clear out that hall faster than a skunk in a sorority house.

Romanian anti-graft prosecutors investigate Romanian football boss

Anti-graft prosecutors started investigating Romanian football boss Dumitru Dragomir for bribery and forgery in a file regarding a land transaction, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs. The prosecutors are also said to be investigating former football boss of FC National, Gino Iorgulescu.

The National Anti-corruption Department (DNA) inquiry eyes a transaction involving a plot of land on which the headquarters of the Professional Football League (LPF) of Romania was built. Dumitru Dragomir, who also serves as MP for the Greater Romania Party (PRM), is head of the LPF.

FC National football club manager Constantin Iacov has submitted a complaint against Dragomir, arguing that he has abused the LPF funds by paying ten times the price of the plot of land to the seller, FC National, through Iorgulescu.

Hagi's debut as a coach in Europe

Even though Hagi, the Romanian football legend started his coaching career in 2001, he did not lead any team to the European coups. However, this time, Hagi will coach Steaua towards Champions League in the confrontation with Zaglebie Lubin. The team lacks six players who are injured and Bostina, who did not follow the team in Poland as he waits for the transfer to Holland.

One of the main problems of the team is the injured players who are still recovering from previous accidents. Moreover, defender Dorin Goian did not trained on Monday with the team as he accused aches in his back.

The second problem facing one of the biggest Romanian teams is the weather. If temperatures in Romania are as high as 32 degrees Celsius, Poland registers heavy rains and not more than 20 degrees Celsius.

Moreover, Hagi cannot use Robinson Zapata as goalkeeper as his green card did not arrive from South America.

Even though the team is incomplete, Hagi is confident in the team’s winning chances and declared that his players have enough experience to win the match.

When asked about the adversaries, Hagi admitted that Zaglebie would be a tough team and that Steaua had better treat the game seriously.

Real Madrid sets price for Chivu, salary still negotiated

Final decisions would be taken in the next couple of days regarding the transfer to Real Madrid of Cristi Chivu, one of the best Romanian football players, Spanish newspaper AS announced on Sunday.

The paper argues that even though Chivu’s club, AS Roma reached an agreement to 18 million euro transfer, the issue is the offer for Chivu’s salary of 5 million euro per season.

Victor Becali, the player’s agent, argued for the Spanish paper that most surely, Chivu will not accept the offer.

In the following days, there will be a new round of negotiations with the football player, as Real’s director are determined to persuade Chivu in giving up some of his financial expectations.

If negotiations fail with Chivu, Real will make an offer to a Brazilian player, Alex, reads AS.

Steaua Bucharest player Thereau transferred to Bruges for 2.9 million euro

Cyril Thereau, one of the players of top Romanian football team Steaua, is transferred to Bruges. Steaua’s owner announced on Monday that he accepted the transfer for 2.9 million euro out of which the club will pay 30% to club Charlerois from which the player was acquired in August 2006.

Cyril Thereau was in Belgium for a while, waiting for a decision to be taken. The player said before his holiday leave that he would not want to continue at Steaua.

Romanian businessman-politician Gigi Becali, the owner of Steaua, was seen by Romanian media as changing his mind on considering foreign players for his team.

Becali alleged that Thereau was negatively influenced by the club’s manager, Mihai Stoica, the one who arranged his initial transfer to Steaua. It seems that after Stoica left Steaua, he suggested Thereau to do the same.

Romanian handball player Carmen Amariei Lungu retained in Russia

Romanian handball player Carmen Amaria Lungu, playing for Danish team Slagelse, was retained by airport authorities in Samara, Russia on Saturday under suspicion that she forged her passport. Slagelse was due to play against Russian team Lada Togliatti in the Champions League finals on Sunday.

The Romanian player was retained in a hotel near the Samara airport as Danish authorities turned to diplomacy to solve the situation.

Carmen Amariei talked to her family, telling why she was retained. “From what Carmen explained to us, they [the Russians] accused her of forging her passport. The passport ran out of pages and two new pages were attached to it at the Russian Embassy to Denmark.

They stamped the entry visa on them, but custom officers retained her on the airport”, according to Carmen’s sister, Anca Amariei.

Slagelse club manager Bjarne Stenbaek said the incident was “amateurish” and scandalous as far as Russian authorities are concerned.

BBC: Chelsea entitled to demand compensations from Mutu

London-based football club Chelsea has won an appeal at the Lausanne sports court that entitles it to demand financial compensations from Romanian football player Adrian Mutu, whom it suspended in 2004 after he was found to have taken drugs, the BBC has learned.

The compensations refer to part of the money paid by Chelsea for the transfer of Mutu and part of the salary invested to recruit him, according to the BBC.

BBC sources also speak of Chelsea plans to demand compensations from Juventus, a team that offered Mutu a five-year contract before his seven-month suspension by the English football federation expired.

Mutu was found to have taken drugs during a doping test demanded by Chelsea. The club annulled his contract within days after the finding. The English football federation later decided to apply a seven-month suspension to the Romanian footballer.

Chelsea than demanded compensations to recover part of its investment in Mutu, but the footballer challenged the move before FIFA and managed to reject the claim with the help of Italian lawyers, as he had already been contracted by Juventus.

The information obtained by the BBC turns the situation upside down as the Lausanne sports arbitration court has the last word in cases like this.

Adrian Mutu currently plays for Italian team Fiorentina and scored 15 goals this season.

Romanian journalist beaten with chains at football derby

Romanian gendarmes have identified and are about to arrest a group of football supporters who beat a TV cameraman at the Saturday derby between Steaua Bucharest-Dinamo Bucharest. But they failed to explain how it was possible that a cameraman working for the public television was beaten with chains under their very eyes before the game.

Robert Cristea was attacked by a group of Steaua supporters before the game started on Saturday. His camera was broken and he was hospitalized with serious wounds.

A representative for the Gendarmes, Eugen Meran, failed to explain how comes his men did not intervene to defend the man, but accused journalists of not complying with the directions of the gendarmes to stay in a specific area of the stadium.

According to Meran, quoted by the public television TVR, mounted gendarmes could not intervene because they were not allowed to mount off. And he said they could not arrest the suspects on the spot because “they did not have the time” for that.

44 years of Michael ''Air'' Jeffery Jordan (Video)

One of the most famous players in basketball history, Michael Jeffery Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. His family headed to Wilmington, North Carolina when Jordan was still little and, being the youngest of three children, he was considered the laziest of the three. Although he slacked through school, when he hit high school, things began to turn around for him. He began to get better grades and showed more of an interest in school itself, along with three different sports: football, baseball, and basketball, where he lettered in all three.

During his sophomore year, he was cut from the basketball team because he only stood 5'9. Over the summer, he continued to train and grew a whopping 4 inches, consequently, he wasn't cut from the team again. And, during his senior year, was selected for the McDonald's All-American Team. When he headed off to college at the University of North Carolina, he was not yet the star that he would become. Although he did help to lead his team to a win in the 1982 NCAA Championship, he quit school to enter the draft for the NBA in 1984, where he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls.

During his NBA career, he stayed for thirteen straight seasons with the Bulls, and then headed to the Washington Wizards for two seasons. It was here in the NBA that Jordan really made his mark, earning the MVP award five times, leading his team to win six NBA Championships, and was even named Rookie of the Year. During his first few seasons, he became the only other player in history, besides Wilt Chamberlain, to score over 3,000 points in one season. His game only got better the longer that he was in the NBA, earning him multiple All-Star game positions. It was not long before Jordan's face and clips of his basketball skills were everywhere around the world, including his famous clip from the 1990-1991 season when he switched hands in mid-air while playing the LA Lakers. It was also during this season that Jordan won the NBA Finals MVP award and cried on camera while holding the trophy.

Throughout his career, he has retired several times, sometimes amidst massive amounts of controversy. In 1993, he announced his retirement, and then was accused of loosing over $50,000 during his gambling days along with many other accusations that came out during this same time about his gambling problems. In 1994, he headed to the baseball fields, where he played for the Chicago White Sox. But, his baseball game wasn't quite as good as his basketball game, and, even though he played for a couple of different minor league teams, he finally gave it up to return to the court. This same year, he headed back to the court, and to the Bills, scoring over 50 points in several games, proving to the world that he was, indeed “back”. Yet, after playing for five more years, he once again announced his retirement in 1999.

But, in 2000, he returned to basketball, except for the Washington Wizards this time, just not as a player. Jordan became part owner and the President of Operations for the team. Although he won several awards during his time as a basketball executive, many people just didn't quite know what to make of his management skills and career. And, when he bored of that hat, he again donned a jersey and headed back to the court with his new team in 2001. But, age was catching up with the star and many fans began to realize that if he left this time, there would be no coming back.

After injuring himself during the 2001-2002 season, he returned for the 2002-2003 season with special shoes to help his knees. Knowing that this would truly be his last season, the seats sold out for every game, and many teams and players alike began to throw tributes to the all-star player, and he received one of the highest honors when he was presented with the flag that flew over the Pentagon on September 11, 2002 by Donald Rumsfeld. Thus, Jordan left the court for good.

"Global warming" affects Romanian football clubs

Mircea Sandu, the head of the Romanian Football Federation - FRF, has said that if winter days kept being as warm as this year than the calendar of football matches in Romania might change and the holiday season for football players might get shorter.

Sandu, quoted by Associated Press, said the fall season might conclude on December 23 and the spring season may start on January 15. This would shorten the winter break by almost a month.

Romania recorded unprecedented warm days in January and February this year, with temperatures rising well above 10 degrees Celsius in many parts of the country, compared to usual temperatures of 0 degrees or below.

France beats Romania in Davis Cup, advances to quarters

Romania let France advance to the Davis Cup quarterfinal last weekend when Andrei Pavel lost 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 to Richard Rasquet in Clermont-Ferrand pm Sunday. Gasquet let Pavel no chance in his attempt to get the third point against Romania. Pavel&Co. retain a chance for a tie to remain in the World Cup.

Once the victory established, Arnaud Clement replaced Sebastien Grosjean for the final match against Florin Mergea and won 7-5. 7-6 (3), sealing an overall 4-1 over Romania. On Saturday, Florin Mergea and Horia Tecau defeated Clement and Michael Llondra in the doubles to keep their country in the race after Gasquet beat Hanescu and Grosjean defeated Pavel on Friday,

On Sunday, younger Gasquet had little trouble to down Pavel, 33, whose risks could not overturn the situation as Gasquet won five gains after a surprising 5-2 for Pavel I the third set.

Former gymnastics star Andreea Raducan claims back Sydney medal

Romanian gymnast Andreea Raducan has requested the International Olympic Committee to give her back the medal she won at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Raducan had her medal withdrawn because she was found to have used a then-illegal substance, pseudoephedrine, an ingredient of a simple cold pill. The substance was since removed from the list of drugs banned in sporting events.

The Romanian Sports Olympics Committee is currently considering how to support Raducan’s attempt to get back the Olympic title she was stripped of in Sydney, years after the World Anti-doping Agency removed the substance from the banned list.

Raducan’s case sparked consternation in Romania at the time as she and two other Romanians took all three medals in individual contests in Sydney. She was welcomed by crowds and the then-President Emil Constantinescu on her return to Bucharest.

But Romania’s challenge of the IOC decision, considering that the team doctor gave her the pill for a simple cold, was met with total resistance.
