Romania entrepreneurs can be sued if putting employees under stress

A change to the labor code in Romania related to the right of the employees to sue their employers if they are put under pressure has been enacted on Monday. The law had previously considered such a measure to be taken only if material damages were involved.

Labor Ministry Paul Pacuraru has said that the modification will tense the relations between employees and employers even more.

Moreover the moral prejudice cannot be measured objectively and any decision taken on such cases remains at the attitude of the judges, he said.

Examples of moral prejudice offered by the Labor minister are putting an employee under stress or subjecting him to disrespectful treatment.
