Vosganian: "Barroso asked if I were an irredentist"

Varujan Vosganian, the first candidate for the European Commissioner seat, discussed for the first time the questions the EC president, Jose Manuel Barroso, asked him before the rejection. Varujan claims in the “Stirea Zilei” TV show on Antena 3 that Barroso asked him whether he was an irredentist or not.

Thus, Vosganian says that Barroso was informed that he doesn’t respect the Romanian - Moldovan border and wants the two countries to unify.

“I believe that the re-completion of the Romanian territory must remain an aspiration for the entire political class. There are international treaties, there is a state called Moldova and we respect it’s independence, sovereignty and Constitution” was the old quote Vosganian was asked about by Barroso.
