Orange to bill in European currency


Orange decided to compute its prices in euros, starting on January 8, 2007, using the euro/dollar exchange rate announced by the Romanian National Bank for the date, the Orange Romania CEO, Richard Moat announced on Thursday.
The bills will be charged according to the new fees and expressed, as usual, in Romanian Lei (RON).

The conversion would take place for all services, including the subscription fees, the cost per minute, the Thank You points and the credit for the prepaid cards. For example, the 4 dollars subscription will become 3 euros, the 19 cents per minute cost will become 14 eurocents per minute.

Orange currently has 7.5 million clients, after reaching at the end of 2005 6.5 million clients and a 870 million euros business figure.
