Romanian President Traian Basescu defended a fast decentralization of administration, education and health services in a fast manner as a means to bring the state closer to the needs of Romanian citizens as the country is about to join the European Union. He urged the government to move quickly in this regard, as what he as a president could do was only to push for change to happen.
During a speech in Oradea, Basescu warned about the small number of projects for rural development across the country and recommended local authorities to ask for the support of experts in order to absorb European funds aimed at local development.
He also urged local authorities to establish centers for professional training so that regions affected by social change be prepared for new labour opportunities.Romanian President Traian Basescu defended a fast decentralization of administration, education and health services in a fast manner as a means to bring the state closer to the needs of Romanian citizens as the country is about to join
