Controversial deputy no longer an Euro-observer

Romanian deputy Mona Musca has received the official confirmation of the conclusion of her term as Romania’s Euro-observer at the European Parliament. Recently ousted from the National Liberal Party over alleged links with ex-dictator Nicolae Ceausescu’s secret police, she had announced she would give up her EP term, a decision become effective October 10.

Liberal sources say she will be replaced by a Liberal deputy from Calarasi, Adina Valean, who used to serve as head of a civic institution working under the auspices of the Liberal Party.
